Fees

My usual hourly rate is £350-300 + VAT depending on the value and complexity of the case. If I am attending court my fees are £1,250 - 1,500 + VAT for a full day and £800-1,250 + VAT for a half day. There will be an additional charge for preparation, which will depend upon the length and complexity of the case, but usually 0.5 to 1 days preparation are required for each day in court. In Employment Tribunal claims a Pre-hearing Review (PHR) often takes place. These are usually listed for 2-3 hours and depending upon the complexity my usual fees are £600-1,200 + VAT including preparation. It may be possible to agree a fixed fee for the work do be done rather than working on an hourly or day rate.

Quotes

The Fees Section is only a guide and you will need to speak to my clerks to agree a fee. Sometimes it will be necessary to review documentation or speak to you before being able to give you a quote. The initial consideration in order to provide a quote will usually be without charge, but in more complex cases or where there are a lot of documents I may have to charge to review the documentation. Work

Direct Access

Once we have agreed terms I will send you a client care letter and my terms and conditions for you to review and agree before I start work. How long the work will take depends upon the number of documents in the case, whether I need to have a conference with you (in person, via Zoom or on the telephone) of if I need additional information. The Employment Tribunals can take a long time to respond to correspondence or list matters for a hearing, which may also affect how long it will take to provide the services. I will set out in my client care letter how long I expect the work to take.

I can work on a direct access basis, this means that you don’t need a solicitor to instruct me to work on your case. However, I will not be able to run the case for you though I can represent you at Tribunal and advise you how to run the case. Direct Access may not be suitable for everyone and you may want more help on your case than I can provide. If you want more help I may know a firm of solicitors who might be able to assist.
